Client Case Study
Somerville House
Good ideas have a way of spreading, which is exactly what happened when a key profile booklet was updated for Somerville House Foundation. The strong design elements and arresting use of the school’s dominant green uniform colour proved such a winning combination that the decision was immediately made to extend the rebranding to other Foundation fundraising publications as well as the school’s major marketing tool, the high quality Somerville House Prospectus. The refreshed materials all maximise the impact of exceptional photography, vibrant colour and superb reproduction techniques.
Having a long association with Somerville House, one of Queensland’s leading private girls’ schools, proved a major advantage. As well as providing creative services to the school over many years, desigbylook director, Kirsten Downes, is an ‘old girl’ – as is her mother. Such professional and personal connections are immensely valuable. Being able to successfully interpret a client’s brief, then fulfil their creative vision, often beyond expectations, are the true measures of design talent.
The result for Somerville House in this instance is a suite of distinctive publications to assist the school to continue attracting quality students and raising money for capital improvements well into the future. The suite was Highly Commended in the Australian Catalogue Awards.
